November 4, 2026 — ViaBTC ranked first among Zcash mining pools by cumulative blocks mined, according to ZcashInfo’s all-time ranking. ViaBTC mined 1,190,965 blocks, representing 33.6% of the blocks counted in the ranking and roughly twice the share of the second-ranked pool, at 16.7%.

The ranking comes amid growing interest in Zcash mining as higher ZEC prices have lifted the dollar value of mining rewards. In a September analysis based on data as of September 9, Grayscale estimated that the Bitmain Z15 Pro mining Zcash earned about twice the daily rewards per machine and four times the rewards per megawatt-hour of the Bitmain S23 Hydro mining Bitcoin. The comparison assumed electricity at $0.05 per kWh and full uptime. It excluded transaction fee rewards, pool fees, cooling and hardware costs.

Mining companies have also expanded their involvement in Zcash. In September, Fortitude disclosed an agreement to purchase 9,000 Z15 Pro miners, with shipments expected in the fourth quarter. In August, Nasdaq-listed Cypherpunk Technologies announced the acquisition of an operating Zcash mining fleet with approximately 4.2 GSol/s of capacity.

ViaBTC launched its Zcash mining pool in November 2017. In January 2026, it added PPS+ for ZEC while retaining PPLNS, giving miners two ways to receive rewards. Under PPS+, the pool pays the block subsidy component based on valid shares submitted, reducing the effect of fluctuations in the pool’s block production on that portion of miners’ rewards. PPLNS payouts depend on the blocks the pool finds and the miner’s eligible shares.

ViaBTC also offers subaccounts that let operators track hashrate and earnings separately across mining sites or groups of machines, along with alerts for offline workers and high share rejection rates.

More information about ViaBTC’s Zcash mining pool is available on the ViaBTC website.
