Córdoba, Argentina, October 2, 2026 — ViaBTC, a leading global cryptocurrency mining pool, continued its support for Bitcoin education in Argentina with an event at the Catholic University of Córdoba (UCC) on September 29. Organized by the nonprofit ONG Bitcoin Argentina, the event brought students and faculty together for introductory lessons, practical activities and lively discussion about Bitcoin and blockchain technology.

The event was part of Bitcoin in Universities (Bitcoin en las Universidades), a program offering free courses to university communities across Argentina. Following earlier sessions in Buenos Aires, the Córdoba event extended ViaBTC’s involvement to another city, building on its ongoing collaboration with local educators.

Making Bitcoin education more accessible

At the UCC event, instructors Federico Andragnes and Paula Martínez covered Bitcoin and blockchain fundamentals, mining, cryptocurrency exchanges and decentralized finance. The curriculum also included digital asset security and fraud prevention, helping participants understand the risks involved alongside the technology itself.

Students asked questions, took part in practical activities and discussed unfamiliar concepts directly with the instructors. For those new to Bitcoin and blockchain, the session offered an opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners, work through areas of confusion and relate the course material to practical questions about using the technology.

Making these learning opportunities more widely available is part of ViaBTC’s long-term commitment to the communities it serves. In Latin America, the company is putting that commitment into practice through continued collaboration with local educators and support for free university courses. By sharing its technical knowledge beyond the mining industry, ViaBTC hopes to help students with limited access to these subjects understand the technology, assess its risks and explore its possibilities. Through sustained involvement, ViaBTC aims to build lasting relationships with local communities and make Bitcoin education more accessible across the region.

Bringing infrastructure expertise into the classroom

For the past decade, ViaBTC has helped build and operate infrastructure for Bitcoin and other proof-of-work networks. Its team brings deep expertise in blockchain protocols and distributed systems to the deployment of global nodes, protocol integration, block propagation and ongoing operations. This combination of technical expertise and a decade of operational experience underpins ViaBTC’s ability to build and maintain reliable blockchain infrastructure.

For its educational work, ViaBTC draws on this expertise to explain how network protocols, nodes and computing power work together. This perspective can help students connect technical concepts with the infrastructure that keeps blockchain networks running.

ViaBTC made support for the Argentine university program part of its tenth-anniversary activities earlier this year and contributed mining and infrastructure content to earlier sessions. Working with local educators brings together that technical background and an understanding of students’ learning needs, helping make complex subjects accessible to people new to the field.

A long-term commitment to Latin America

Latin America has long been an important market for ViaBTC. Alongside serving miners in the region, the company has continued to work with local organizations to support Bitcoin education. Its involvement in university sessions from Buenos Aires to Córdoba shows how that commitment extends to students and the wider academic community.

According to ONG Bitcoin Argentina, previous editions of Bitcoin in Universities reached more than 1,300 students, faculty members and university staff at 20 universities across seven Argentine provinces. ViaBTC’s partnership with the organization allows it to contribute industry expertise to an established program with connections to universities across the country.

Coming in October: UADE and UB

With the Córdoba event completed, the current round of university sessions is entering its final stage. The next stops are the Argentine University of Enterprise (UADE) and the University of Belgrano (UB), with both events scheduled for October. Those interested in attending can follow ONG Bitcoin Argentina and ViaBTC on social media for event updates and details on how to participate.
