RAFA to launch agentic fund management on Base for transparent on-chain funds
RAFA Protocol, an agentic fund management protocol built to make investing more transparent and accessible, today announced its public launch on Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network incubated by Coinbase.

San Francisco, United States of America, October 8, 2026 — RAFA Protocol, an agentic fund management protocol built to make investing more transparent and accessible, today announced its public launch on Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network incubated by Coinbase. RAFA is a Tides Network project and launches with backing from Botwork Orange and Tides Network, whose investors include Coinbase Ventures, Arrington Capital, Gate.io, OKX, and NGC Ventures.
RAFA brings fund shares, approved assets, positions, fees and performance into a single verifiable on-chain record. Participants can review a fund’s strategy, holdings, fees and track record before connecting a wallet, then follow every trade on-chain once they do.
Agents built from inside the industry
The team behind RAFA has provided enterprise software to asset managers in the United States. That work exposed persistent gaps: access to top-performing strategies is limited to a narrow set of investors; strategy, custody, reporting and distribution sit in separate systems. and participants often see the full picture of a fund’s performance too late. These inefficiencies cost investors both access and returns.
RAFA uses AI to close those gaps. Its research agents digest filings, call transcripts, market data and on-chain activity as they are released, run backtests, and surface risk flags before positions go wrong, with every source and assumption shown. The same tools work for participants, who can ask their agent why a fund is up, what it is really exposed to, and how its drawdowns, fees and concentration compare with alternatives.
Those outputs are built to be checked, not taken on trust. RAFA’s Verifiable Precision Protocol, set out in its network architecture paper, is designed to cryptographically commit every dataset and transformation in a financial data pipeline, log each model and data update to a tamper-evident ledger, and fold step-by-step proofs into a single certificate that can be verified in milliseconds.
Agentic сo-management of funds
RAFA separates responsibilities so it is always clear who does what:
- Fund Creators own the mandate. They define the strategy, make trade decisions, set disclosed fees and remain accountable for risk and results.
- The AI Research Desk shows its work. Agents organize research, backtests, assumptions and risk flags, supporting human decisions rather than holding an autonomous trading mandate.
- The RAFA Protocol enforces the rails. It handles whitelisted assets, settlement, fund shares and position records, without choosing the strategy.
Creator access is opening in stages under published requirements and risk controls. Every fund displays who operates it, what it can hold, and whether it is live, in testing or planned. The roadmap spans alpha strategies, tokenized equities and real-world assets, compute markets, and disclosed credit portfolios and special-purpose vehicles.
Agentic funds live on Base
RAFA launches on Base. Its asset-whitelist, deposit, fund-share and redemption flows completed testing on Base Sepolia, and core fund infrastructure is now live, with production strategies, disclosures and controls rolling out in stages. Every trade is recorded on-chain.
“Botwork Orange invests to further human prosperity through machines that transact and coordinate on open, decentralized rails. Funds are where prosperity is actually allocated, and today they are the least machine-legible part of finance,” said Mike Maloney, Founding Partner at Botwork Orange, CEO and Founder of Incyt, and Independent Board Member of BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR). “RAFA fixes that at the protocol level, with one public record of positions, fees and performance and a roadmap that extends it to tokenized equities, compute markets and disclosed credit vehicles. We backed RAFA because the machine economy will need a transparent place to hold its capital, and ‘open books, public first’ is the right foundation.”
